We Have a Variety of Programs
Rotary Youth Exchange
The New Hartford Rotary club, with the backing of Rotary District 7150, is an active participant of the Rotary Youth Exchange program. This is a year long program that allows high school aged students to further international goodwill and understanding by enabling students to study first hand some of the accomplishments and problems of people in other countries.

The Don Urbanke
Kindergarten Book Project
Provides a personalized book to every kindergarten student in the New Hartford School District. The books encourage young students to read and helps promote good reading habits, good-will with students, teachers and school-district. This project will support community literacy programs that strengthen their capacity to provide education/literacy.
David F. Murphy
Music Scholarship
The Scholarship is intended to financially assist qualifying New Hartford and surrounding area high school students. Applicants will be judged by need, musical aptitude and community service. Each student and their parent/guardians are invited to attend Rotary meetings to give club members updates on how their classes are going and a “concert” of some of the pieces they have learned.
Support of our Veterans
New Hartford Rotary works with the Central New York Veteran’s Outreach Center in providing food, clothing and household necessities for Veterans. As one of our projects we furnished one of the apartments used to provide housing for homeless Vets.
Food Collections
There are always people in need of food. These drives help support food pantries around the area as well as the Veterans Outreach Center in Utica.
Veterans Park Clean-up
(Spring & Fall)
Each year the New Hartford Rotary holds a meeting at the New Hartford Veterans Memorial Park prior to Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day. During our “meeting” we clean up trash left behind by many people and get the park ready for ceremonies that thank our service people for their time and commitment
Polio Eradication Support
To date, Rotary has contributed more than $1.7 billion and countless volunteer hours to help immunize more than two billion children in 122 countries. Rotary will raise $50 million per year over the next three years, with every dollar to be matched with two dollars from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Concerts in the Park
When the New Hartford Citizens’ Band begins their “Concerts in the Park” the New Hartford Rotary is there to help feed concert goers prior to and during breaks. We have never served gourmet food but we do have the best hotdogs, not the wurst.
Tree Planting Program
Rotary has set a goal to purchase and plant no less than 1000 trees during the Spring and Fall of 2021. The first 100 trees were planted in May 2021 along the Sauquoit Creek. There are another 200 due to be planted in the “Naturalization Area” within Griffiss Business and Technology Park. As funds allow we will be purchasing additional trees.
